Launch Vehicle Support Squadron Mission Patch for the launch of GPS IIF-11.   This patch depicts 11 stars to represent the 11th of 12 satellites launched to complete this constellation.  The stars are composed of 5 red stars to represent the 5th Support Launch Squadron (SLS), 5 white stars plus 1 gold star representing the brightest star in the constellation. Together, these 11 stars represent the 11 (out of 12) satellites that are already in orbit that form this GPS constellation.  This satellite rides aboard an Atlas V 401 Launch Vehicle with tail number AV-060 (60th mission for the Atlas Rocket). The patch gets its shape from the Altair star in the Aquila constellation, which the mission itself is associated with. The navstar is at the head of the shape, just as the Altair star is in the head of the Aquila constellation. The wings themselves are designed in as cutouts of the Prop and Wings insignia, a salute to the efforts of the Air Force in this mission and the entire GPS program.  This mission was launched successfuly on 31 October 2015 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex (SLC) 41

Patch for the NASA Magnetospheric Multiscale Code 461 mission launched from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on 12 March 2015 10:44pm (2244).  This project is designed to investigate how the Sun's and the Earth's magnetic fields connect and disconnect transfering energy from one to the other.  (Magnetic Reconnection)  This "reconnection" affects our modern technological systems such as GPS, telecommunications networks and electrical power grids.   This spacecraft is the fourth launched of a constellation of 4.

The patch represents the Atlas 421 vehicle used to place the spacecraft in orbit. The vehicles' tail number AV-053 is shown on the bottom.  The NASA text is shown on the left and the Atlas "A" represents ULA's efforts.  The 5 red stars respresent the 5th Space Launch Squadron efforts.  The 4 satellites that constitute the constellation are represented in the middle of the patch.
