Apollo 13 25th Anniversary Patch

Embroidered patch issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Apollo 13 Mission.  Seventh crewed mission of the Apollo Program.  Launched aboard a Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A.  Actual Mission duration: 11 April - 17 April 1970

Mission objectives: 3rd human Moon landing.  Mission deemed a "successful failure" after an oxygen tank aboard the Command Module exploded which forced NASA to abort any landing attempt and cut the mission short.  Through the ingenuity, dedication and heroic efforts of all concerned, the crew returned to earth safely.
