Astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders flew Apollo 8 on Dec. 21-27, 1968. Riding the Saturn 5 Moon rocket for the first time, the crew flew their spacecraft all the way to the Moon and back. Circling the Moon 10 times, the crew scouted for future landing sites.

Astronauts Tom Stafford, John Young and Gene Cernan flew Apollo 10 on May 18-26, 1969. Stafford and Cernan took their lunar module Snoopy within 50,000 feet of the lunar surface as a dress rehearsal for the real thing on Apollo 11. Young remained in the command module Charlie Brown.

This is the official crew insignia for Apollo 12, the United States' second lunar landing mission.
